What are my options if I've missed a payment?

We understand that life doesn’t always go according to plan. If you’ve missed a payment, don’t worry – there are ways to catch up and support available to help you get back on track.
Can you make the payment now?
If you've just missed a payment and you're able to catch up, you can make a repayment online at any time using your debit card. Simply sign in to your account and follow the instructions.
Loan or car finance customers: You won’t be charged extra for paying late.
Credit card customers: A £12 missed payment fee will apply.
Please note that if you don’t make your full payment, we’re required to report this to credit reference agencies. This could affect your credit score and make it harder to get credit in the future.
What are my options if I can’t pay right now?
It’s really important to get in touch with us if you’re struggling to keep up with your Zopa payments. There are things we can do to try and get you back on track.
If you’re unable to pay the full amount right now, there are several options to consider:
Promise to Pay – if you know you’ll be able to pay the full overdue amount within the next 30 days, you can get in touch and request to set up a Promise to Pay. Find out more here.
Temporary Reduced Payments – f if you’re facing longer-term financial difficulties and can’t meet your usual monthly payments, a temporary reduced repayment plan might be the best option for you. Find out more here.
Short-Term Account Hold – if you’re not sure what option is best for you or need more time to review your finances, we could place your account on a short hold. Find out more here.
Government Debt Respite Scheme – the government debt respite scheme could help give you time to seek advice from a professional debt advisor. Find out more here.
Ending a Car Finance Agreement Early – if you have car finance and want to end your agreement early, there are additional options.
Will missing a payment impact my credit file?
As a responsible lender we must accurately reflect the status of your account and report this to the credit reference agencies, this includes reporting missed payments and reduced payment plans.
Missed payments on your credit file can make it more difficult to obtain credit in future.

What happens if I don’t get in touch?
When it comes to finances, the sooner you begin to tackle the problem, the easier it will be to take control.
Missed payments can stay on your credit file for up to six years and could impact your ability to obtain credit in future. The sooner you get in touch, the more options we have available to help get you back on track.
