Customer Competition Terms

Please note, by taking the required actions outlined below, you are automatically entered into the prize draw and agree to the following terms and conditions. 

  1. How to participate 

    1. To be eligible for this prize draw sponsored by Visa Europe Limited, please follow the link that you receive via email or in app communication and proceed with either ‘Entry Route 1’ or ‘Entry Route 2’ as defined below. 

    2. ‘Entry Route 1’ applies if you are a Zopa credit card customer who has recently been sent a new card by Zopa that has not yet been activated. To enter the prize draw, please follow the instructions to activate your new card and make one (1) transaction of any amount. 

    3. ‘Entry Route 2’ applies if you are a Zopa credit card customer who has activated your card but has not set up a direct debit for your monthly repayments. To enter the prize draw, please request to set up a direct debit and make one (1) transaction of any amount.  

    4. For ‘Entry Route 2’, you will only be entered into the prize draw if you set up a new direct debit and not if you change an existing direct debit. 

    5. You will only be entered into the prize draw if you set up a new direct debit and not if you change an existing direct debit. 

    6. Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will be void and will not be entered into this promotion. 

    7. This prize draw is free to enter (aside from the transaction).  

    8. You may only submit one (1) entry to this promotion, by taking the action we have contacted you about via email or in app communication. Any further entries will be void and will not be entered into this promotion. 

  2. Start dates and closing dates 

    1. This promotion will start at 00:01 on 10 April 2024 and the closing date with be  23:59 on 31 May 2024.  

    2. Entries received after this time will be void and will not be entered into this promotion. 

    3. Zopa accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind. 

  3. Selection of the winner 

    1. Fifty-two (52) winners will be randomly selected from all entries submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions. 

  4. Prizes 

    1. Prizes are supplied by Visa Europe Limited. 

    2. The prizes are as follows:  

      1. Hospitality Package ‘Gold Prize’: Two (2) hospitality packages which include a sporting event that will take place during the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 to comprise of the following:  

        1. Two (2) nights’ hotel accommodation at a 4-star hotel in Paris based on double occupancy only, 

        2. Two (2) pre-selected events excluding Opening and Closing Ceremony  (Category B tickets for Basketball and Taekwondo), 

        3. Paris Tourist Pass (e.g. Hop-on, Hop-off), 

        4. Visa prepaid card (€200) value per package,  

        5. Visa Everywhere Lounge at hotel 

        6. Airport/Train Station transfers in Paris 

        7. Daily breakfast and light snacks available at the hotel 

        8. Paris Metro Card for transport to/from events 

        9. Gifts/Amenities $400 value per package,  

        10. Visa event, medical and security staff 

        11. Please note that the following are not included in the Package Prize: any meal, event, and/or activity outside of the scheduled program itinerary; hotel incidentals; passports and/or travel visas and any applicable taxes. 

      2. Party in a Box ‘Silver Prize’: Twenty (20) prizes to comprise of the following:  

        1. Panasonic 55-inch 4K LED Smart TV,  

        2. Official Olympic Merchandise Paris 2024 Olympics Plush Mascot 15cm, 

        3. Official Olympic Merchandise Paris 2024 Olympics Mascot Mug, 

        4. Secure storage and UK mainland delivery (to be provided by a third-party supplier),  

        5. VISA branded gift box to hold all items excluding large items and 

        6. VISA branded flyer. 

      3. Merchandise ‘Bronze Prize’: Thirty (30) prizes to comprise of the following:  

        1. Nintendo Switch console,  

        2. Nintendo Switch sports game, 

        3. Official Olympic Merchandise Paris 2024 Olympics Plush Mascot 15cm, 

        4. Official Olympic Merchandise Paris 2024 Olympics Mascot Mug, 

        5. Secure storage and UK mainland delivery (to be provided by a third-party supplier),  

        6. VISA branded gift box to hold all items excluding large items and 

        7. VISA branded flyer. 

      4. All prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives are offered. 

  5. Restrictions and requirements 

    1. Please note the following restrictions and requirements apply:  

      1. you must be a UK resident, 

      2. you must be aged 18 years or over and  

      3. you must be a Zopa credit card customer who meets the requirements of either  Entry Route 1 or Entry Route 2 (as defined at 1.2 and 1.3).  

    2. Zopa employees are ineligible to enter this promotion. 

  6. Notification of the results and receipt of the prizes 

    1. Please note, the dates below were modified on 15 May 2024 to ensure the ‘Gold Prize’ winners are given sufficient time to receive their prizes ahead of the start of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

    2. Two prize draws for 52 winners, 52 runners up and 6 more replacement winners  will take place at once on 03 June 2024.

    3. Zopa will email the winners on Tuesday 04 June 2024. The selected winners must claim their prizes by 07 June 2024.

    4. For any prizes that have not been claimed, Zopa will email the winners on 10 June 2024. The selected winners must claim their prizes by 13 June 2024.

    5. The winners of the Party in a Box Prizes and Merchandise Prizes can expect to receive their prizes within two (2) weeks of the applicable prize draw being announced.

  7. Publicity and personal information 

    1. Please note that your personal information will be used to process your entry, to contact you about your entry, and for the purposes outlined in paragraphs 7.2 and 7.3 below.  Please see our privacy policy Privacy Notice - Zopa for more details regarding how the Zopa will use your personal information. 

    2. Your personal information may also be passed on to third parties such as Visa, its associated companies and service providers as required. Any personal information passed on to Visa shall be processed in accordance with Visa’s privacy policy. https://www.visa.co.uk/legal/privacy-policy.html. 

    3. The surname and county of the winners will be published at this page.  

    4. If you do not want your surname and county included on the list of winners referred to above, you will have the option to opt out when claiming your prize. 

  8. General 

    1. This promotion is operated by Zopa Bank Limited,1st Floor Cottons Centre, 47- 49 Tooley Street, London, England, SE1 2QG. 

    2. While nothing in these terms and conditions will limit or exclude Zopa’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud, Zopa will not be legally responsible to entrants or winners for any losses that were not foreseeable to Zopa or to the entrant at the time of entry to the promotion or which are caused by a third party, including but not limited to travel delays and cancellations and delays in the delivery of goods by a third party. 

    3. Paris 2024 - International Olympic Committee and Paris Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 (the ‘Rights Holder’) and Visa Europe Limited are not responsible for the administration of this promotion and the Rights Holder is not liable for anything arising out of this promotion including the fulfilment of prizes. 

    4. So far as is permitted by law, the Rights Holder and Visa exclude responsibility and all liabilities arising from: (i) any postponement, cancellation or material change of the promotion and (ii) any act or default by a winner or their guest resulting in the winner or their guest being unable to activate the prize and/ or any elements of it. By participating in this promotion, you understand and agree that you are not being granted any rights (including any advertising, marketing or sponsorship rights) in relation to the Rights Holder or the promotion (or any associated competitions, matches, teams or athletes).  

    5. The laws of England and Wales apply to these terms and conditions, although if you are resident elsewhere you will retain the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the laws of that country. 

    6. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK in which you live.
