If you haven’t applied for a Zopa loan or credit card, we still might appear on your credit file if someone you’re financially tied to has applied. This is called an 'associate search'.

People who are financially tied to you are called ‘financial associates’. This link is made by Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs) where they see you’ve made joint credit applications or hold a joint current account with someone. Associate searches show up on your associate’s credit file, but other lenders can’t see them and they won’t affect your associate’s ability to apply for credit.

If you feel that you are incorrectly linked to a person, you can file for a disassociation through the CRAs, however the link will remain until this is granted.
