Who is Invesco?
scheduleUpdated 19 days ago
Invesco is one of the world’s biggest investment managers, trusted by investors in over 120 countries. They’ve been helping people grow their money for more than 80 years and now manage over £1.4 trillion.
We’ve partnered with them to bring their expert-built investment funds to the Zopa app – so you can invest with confidence in just a few taps.
Behind the scenes, Invesco has teams all over the world, specialising in shares, bonds and other types of investments. Their job is to research markets, spot opportunities and manage risk, so you don’t have to.
What Invesco funds does Zopa offer?
You can choose from 2 ready-made Invesco funds in the Zopa app: Balanced or Bold. Both offer a simple, low-cost way to invest for long-term growth by spreading your money across a mix of global shares and bonds.
Instead of investing in individual companies, each fund invests in around 10–20 Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). An ETF is simply a basket of investments.
For example, one basket might hold the 500 biggest companies in the US, while another holds the 100 biggest companies in the UK. That means you own a tiny slice of lots of companies all over the world – all within a single fund. It’s an easy and affordable way to spread your investment risk.
All the ETFs used in these funds meet defined environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. Read more about sustainability.
How does Invesco manage my investments day to day?
Invesco keeps a close eye on the markets and regularly reviews each fund. When conditions change – for example, if some countries start to look more attractive than others – they can adjust how much of the fund is invested in each ETF.
This kind of ongoing oversight is something most people don’t have the time, tools or expertise to do themselves. It would mean choosing multiple ETFs, monitoring the markets and regularly rebalancing your investments. With Invesco’s funds, all of that work is done for you.
Whether you’re new to investing or looking to grow your long-term wealth, it’s easy to get started in the Zopa app. And with Invesco’s decades of experience on your side, you can feel confident your money’s in expert hands.
Just keep in mind that investments can go up and down in value, so you could get less money back than you put in. That’s why experts typically suggest investing for 5 years or more – over this timeframe, investing has historically outperformed saving.
