How do I close my bank account and what happens to my money?

To close your Biscuit bank account:
In the Zopa app, tap the question mark in the top right.
Tap Start Chatting.
You’ll be connected to live chat, where we can help you close your Biscuit bank account.
Before we can close your account, you’ll need to:
Move or withdraw any money in your account so your balance is £0. We can’t transfer any remaining money out for you.
Cancel any recurring payments, such as Direct Debits and subscriptions.
Make sure you’re not expecting a salary payment or another payment into your account in the next 3 working days.
We can only close your account once any scheduled payments or incoming payments have cleared.
What happens after I close my account?
Closing your Biscuit bank account doesn’t close your wider Zopa account. You’ll still be able to log in to the Zopa app, and any other Zopa products you have, such as a Smart Saver, won’t be affected.
What happens to my Regular Saver pot?
If you close your Biscuit bank account, you'll no longer be eligible for a Regular Saver pot – it will automatically convert to an Access pot. You can check the current Access pot rate at any time in the Zopa app.
As of 22 September, Regular Saver pots will no longer be available to open. If you have one, you can keep it until it ends, 6 months after you opened it. Once it converts to an Access pot it can't be reopened. So if you're thinking of closing your Biscuit bank account, bear in mind you won't be able to get a Regular Saver pot again.
Want to close your whole Zopa account, not just your Biscuit bank account? See how to close your Zopa account.
