I've paid into an ISA that isn't a cash ISA, can I still open a Smart ISA?

If you’ve paid into another ISA type that isn’t a cash ISA, you can open a Smart ISA.

There are 4 types of ISAs: cash ISA, stocks and shares ISA, lifetime ISA and Innovative Finance ISA.

Each tax year, you can spread your allowance in any way you like across different ISA types or put the full £20,000 into one ISA type. However, you can’t open or contribute to more than one ISA of the same type in a tax year.
