Co-founder & Executive Chairman
Giles was part of the team that founded Zopa in 2004. He became CEO in 2007 and moved to the role of Executive Chairman in 2015. Prior to Zopa, Giles co-founded Caverdale, a startup taken to a £250m revenue motor retailer and sold in 1997. He also set up his own consultancy, with large clients in the General Retail and Financial Services sectors, and which also provided start up advice and early stage funding for new businesses. Giles is also non-executive Chairman of Bethnal Green Ventures, the accelerator for startups using technology to make social or environmental impact. He received an OBE for services to financial services in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list.
Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director
Before joining Zopa in 2014 as COO, Jaidev spent 12 years with Capital One, both in the US and the UK. He was the CMO for Capital One UK, responsible for Marketing, Product, Credit and Risk Operations for the UK business and was instrumental in bringing the UK business back to profitability and growth. Outside of work you’ll find him playing a racquet sport, reading a good book, watching cricket at Lord’s or having a delicious meal with family and friends.
Head of Service Operations
Caroline is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Customer Services, Collections and Credit Underwriting. She ensures they operate efficiently and that we’re providing a high quality service to our customers. She joined in 2010 and since then has proudly had her team’s efforts recognised by numerous customer service awards. She champions a strong consumer centric approach in everything we do. Outside of work you’ll find her taking a hike through the woods with her two young children where they can run around in the fresh air and have a mini adventure.
Head of Borrowers
Didier joined Zopa in 2014 having previously worked with Amazon and Real Impact Analytics. He’s a data geek at heart and has assembled an impressive team of data scientists, although there’s one particular analyst he would really like to hire if they existed – Sherlock Holmes. His ideal dinner party guests would include Neil Armstrong and Warren Buffet, and his favourite place in the world is Rio de Janeiro. Elementary, my dear Watson.
Capital Markets & Institutional Lending
Jonathan joined Zopa in 2014, having spent his career in investment banking. What attracted him to Zopa was the opportunity to work with driven, entrepreneurial people and revolutionise the financial services landscape. Working here he finds there is a focus on delivering a world class product while having fun at the same time. If he could have any three people to dinner it would be Lyndon Johnson, Nelson Mandela and Chevy Chase. If he could go anywhere for the day you would find him cheering on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley field.
Chief Product Officer
Andrew has spent his career in data driven, customer centric growth, initially at Capital One, before doing a direct banking start up in Spain. He then spent 7 years at the global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman. He came across peer-to-peer when he started working with the banks on managing disruption and quickly became a P2P believer, and then evangelist, before jumping over to join Zopa in 2014. As he’s an outdoor person his favourite place would be anywhere with wide open space and clear blue skies.
Chief Marketing Officer
Amy joined Zopa in 2015 to help grow Zopa into a household name. Having dedicated her career to e-Commerce, at Amazon and Streetcar, Amy is passionate about the ability of technology to disrupt and deliver better customer experiences. Outside the office, Amy is a keen cyclist and enjoys spending time with her young family.
Chief Technology Officer
Ronen joined Zopa in 2016. With more than two decades of software development and management experience in startups as well as large private and public companies in numerous sectors, he’s responsible for leading Zopa’s technology team and driving the overall technology strategy to support business growth.
